Korea

Silla(650-935)

In 108 BC, Han Dynasty conquered most of Korea. Around the mid-600s, Korean people got united and drove out Han Dynasty. The strongest empire called Silla finally took the Korea over. They built a monasteries Buddhist temple and a writing system which  still using Chinese characters. ​

Koryu(935-1392)

By 935 AD, a leader called Wang Kon took control of Silla when Silla got weak and named his own Kingdom Koryu Dynasty which lasted from 935 AD to 1392.
However, they still kept government like China’s. They also established a civil service but without social mobility which was an extreme disadvantage for society to be organized. Nonetheless, they kept exam system which helped the son of nobles or wealth could get better position that became heredity.
In 1392, Mongol swept Korea and forced Koryu to give tribute including 1000 horses and clothes for 1 million soldiers, which weakened Korea’s strength.​

Choson

In 1392, a group of scholars and army leader drove out Mongols and established a new Dynasty called Choson or Yi Dynasty.

 

Geography of Korea​

The whole country is mostly covered by mountains. Like the climate of China, their monsoon and mountains conduces on the warmer weather and more rainfall that results in more frequent harvest. 

 

Resource of Korea​

Korea is located on Korean peninsula where surrounded by Yellow Sea and Sea of Japan. Fishing would be a large part of economy. Metal mining is another land-exploit resource that has been using for hundreds of year in Korea.  There is a disadvantage , which their economy heavily depends on aquaculture which depends on the location where near sea, of the Korean economy.
