Japan
Yamato(400-794)
By 400A.D., Yamato clan became leading clan of Japan. Even after they took the throne, rival clan still fought with each other. After 400 AD, Japan started to have more contact with mainland of China and soon mostly influenced by China. One of the most important impact is that from Korean travelers, they learned Buddhism and accepted Buddhism in 700-900 AD. However, they still kept Shinto which is an conventional religion that Japanese invented with thousands of Gods.
One of Yamato Prince called Shotoku who grew enthusiasm into Chinese culture sent people to China and learn things from China including writing system and civil service.
Because it ends their empire as feudalistic government which relied on paying money to seek peace, they declined in 794.

Heian Period/Fujiwara Shogunate(794 - 1185)
In 794, many Japan’s noble families moved to there too and started the Heian period because the imperial court moved capital from Nara to Heian(the modern Kyoto) and every one wants live surround a economic flourished center. What people did in court is always distracted by trivial stuffs that is unrelated to politics and governing country like what kind of cloth they should wear and arts like poetry. In that period, woman had more voice than most of woman in past in history. One of most influential woman called Murasaki Shikibu who wrote a masterpiece of Tale called The Tale of Genji.
During the most time of the Heian period, the people who held the real power was a rich family named Fujiwara. However, the Fujiwaras and the power of the central government started to go down. Lots of landowners moved away from the capital and set their own armies.

The Kamakura Shogunate
(1192-1281)
In 1192, the Kamakura shogunate ruled over the Japan and they nominated and give a title of shogun to Yoritomo from the Minamoto family which means supreme general. The reason why they chose the Minamoto family because who fought with another clan for power for about 30 years and finally emerged the victorious. Since then, the shogun had most powers of military and the center of power of Japan was at the shogun's military headquarters at Kamakura. When Mongol sent two naval invasions to attacked, they were strong enough to drove them out because of his amazing reign for military. Whereas, the victory exhaust their treasury, so the government were failed to pay the samurai so that they get more close to their local lords. As the result, they lost their prestige and power, and started declined.

Geography and source in Japan
As an island country which connected Asia mainland with Pacific Sea and countries located at east of Pacific Sea, the trading of Japan has been utilized as wide as possible because of its immaculate location for exporting and importing.
As a country that was parted by many islands and lack of virescence, its large amount of population forces them to import most of their sources from other country. However, there are a lot of advantages of island country. Fishing is one of the important part of financial income.
